Grandparent Talk is also played successfully in nursing homes and other special care settings to help older individuals have fun while recalling the past and connecting to one another within their community. In other settings, the game encourages participants to use and strengthen their voices. Although Grandparent Talk was designed originally to be played by Grandchildren and Grandparents, older adult social groups report using the game to spark conversation amongst members. The game becomes a favorite activity!
ABOUT AROUND THE TABLE GAMES
Creator and owner of Around the Table games, Beth Daniels is an occupational therapist and mother of two. Having grown up with 5 generations of family, Beth understands the important role that family conversations have on each of us. But busy schedules and active lives can prevent families from sharing the anecdotes and folklore that make a family a family. So, she created Family Talk and Grandparent Talk as fun ways to stay connected!
