Playing Morphology is a brilliant way to connect more deeply with family and friends. Morphology is different every time you play, with pieces taking on a different meaning as you build words. The game challenges older children, parents, and grandparents to think differently about everyday objects and words. Morphology gives you a chance to laugh hysterically and stretch your creativity to morph the ordinary into the extraordinary ! Creative adventure and hilarious laughter await! HISTORY OF MORPHOLOGYWhy did the inventor Kate Ryan Rieling choose the name Morphology?Morphology is defined as “the system of word-forming elements and processes in a language” and “a study of structure or form.” In a way, this is what the game is all about: thinking about how to form words with a unique structure or form. The game then takes you beyond just thinking through how to build “nail polish,” for instance, with just the string; it starts to challenge you to think about the structure and form of everything. Why did she invent Morphology?"I grew up playing board games with friends and family and loved the fun, competitive spirit it would bring out in all of us. But, I was always looking for a game that was more creative, so I simply set out to make one. I started working on Morphology in 2002, and have been tinkering and refining it ever since. The game as it exists today is the result of seven years of development, incorporating suggestions from hundreds of people who have played it. I never thought of starting a company in those early days, but after receiving such great feedback from people who have played the game, I decided to share Morphology with the world! " What is the inventor's favorite word? "I have a bunch of favorites, mostly associated with the memory of people building the word. That’s the real fun part of the game: watching your uncle or college roommate build the word in such a ridiculous way that you never would have imagined! I love to watch people build the word 'butterfly'- it can be made so beautiful. The word 'white' was also created by someone in an incredibly simple and elegant way. Once, using only a cube, a glass bead and the black rubber circle someone built 'hula hoop' to win the game in hilarious fashion. Every time I play this game, I find a new favorite.
